I posted a link the other day to Kent Babb's column, which was updated with a note that the Chiefs rank 3rd in cash spending for the season. However, this column by Jason La Canfora lists the NFL's top spenders and he doesn't name the Chiefs anywhere among them. He does mention the Chiefs in the column, but not in reference to being one of the big spenders. So what's the deal? The Star update mentioned "cash spending" and La Canfora seems to be discussing "comitted cash". I don't know if there's some difference between those terms that would account for the difference. I wouldn't think so, but who knows? Given the dustup with the Chiefs twitter account, it doesn't look like the issue of spending is going away anytime soon. Could Joel or someone maybe ask around and see where the Chiefs really rank?
