Keep An Eye On Possible Free Agents For The Chiefs

Stay connected for news and updates

Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season is over and the Kansas City Chiefs are 0-1 after a 40-24 beat down at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons. At several points in Sunday's game I was thinking the Chiefs could use more players, veteran players, with some of their injured guys.

The good news is that we may see that coming this week. Players who are on a team's Week 1 roster see their base salaries guaranteed. Players who are signed after Week 1 do not have their entire base salaries guaranteed.

Thus, this is the week to look for the Chiefs to sign a veteran player. I have an idea on a few they could look at, namely Shaun Smith. The Chiefs also worked out a couple of linebackers last week, as well as cornerback Chris Carr. They could use help at both defensive end and cornerback due to current injuries.

Keep an eye on the free agent list this week. Anyone you think of that's worth picking up?
