At some point today we'll have some real football news to talk about. The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to release their first depth chart of the year today. They dub it an "unofficial" depth chart but it gives us an opportunity to finally see what the coaches truly think of the players.
What coaches say about players doesn't necessarily matter a whole lot; what they put on the depth chart might matter a little more. That's why this is a big day.
We'll see, for the first time, where the backup quarterback battle stands. Is it Brady Quinn? Or Ricky Stanzi? That's one of the big battles we've been tracking and we honestly don't know where each one stands.
We'll see how the receiver position looks without Dwayne Bowe involved. Jon Baldwin seems like the main while Steve Breaston will be among those vying for a spot on the field.
Dontari Poe will find out his standing at the nose tackle battle. Anthony Toribio seems to be the most likely to land on the first team at this point, but how long will that last?
We'll find out whether Romeo Crennel enjoys putting Jamaal Charles on the second team like Todd Haley did.
We think we know who is leading the inside linebacker battle between Jovan Belcher and Brandon Siler but today will show us for sure where they stand.
I'm looking forward to this one.
