He was talking about proper football or soccer as you might call it, but the sentiment is correct. This is a site about football and that's what I want to read about.

I'm tired of hackneyed posts that start off with a picture someone found on Google Images of the siege of Stalingrad that ramble on trying to compare the current Chiefs' dilemma to waging a land war in Asia.

I'm tired of tangential comments to politician A being better than politician B.

I'm tired of people spouting their political views here from whatever side.

We are deep into the election season that I see enough political commentary that drives me mad on other sites that enough is enough.

Here is my proposal.

Everyone that writes a post here from now on promises that their posts be about football and that's it.

• no irrelevant pictures of tanks and armies
• no bad analogies to war
• no politics
• while we're at it can we cut out the childish homophobia and racism too?

If it helps to have a "politics thread" that I can safely ignore, go right ahead and use this one.
