Surprise, Stealing a March

The goods teams do it all the time, the Great teams do it every year.

Changing General Managers, Head Coaches, Coordinators, and QB's all are a lost march.
The truly consistent teams rarely have change in any of these positions.

'Stonewall' Jackson at Chancellorsville. Stole a March and routed the Federals in 3 hours. Poor Union leadership or poor Union intelligience led to the Rebels completely marching across the Union front lines and hitting them hard in the Flank. Stonewall Jackson was fatally wounded later that day. Thomas Jackson's finest battle.

Douglas MacArthur was suprised. The entire United Nations Armies were too.

"Retreat Hell! We're just attacking in another direction." (Attributed to Major General Oliver P. Smith, USMC, Korea, December 1950.)

Who knew that the Chinese had 10's of Divisions across the Yalu?

Infamy

The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions surprised us last season. We should not fear that happening again in 2012.

The AFC North. The best teams rarely take a step back. Yet in 2012, the Steelers are implimenting a new Offense and the Baltimore Ravens are already dealing with injury and maybe Age in their defense. The Cincinnati Bengals face a double curse of QB-WR both facing the Sophmore jinx. The Cleveland Browns have some weapons and have hurt the Chiefs in the past. Romeo and Daboll will probably take this game to Heart.

The AFC East. The Patriots are the Patriots, yet the Bills and Jets appear to be switching places in the AFC East.

The AFC South. The Indianapolis Colts. The Luck will either be with us by then or not?

The NFC South. Dixie is in disarray. The Chiefs face the two most difficult teams in this division in weeks One and Four. Steal a March? In 2010 we defeated every team in the NFC West. We have the opportunity to do similar things in 2012.

The AFC West. Six Games that will determine whether we are a playoff team or not. Position by position we are better than the Broncos and the Raiders. San Diego has a head case in charge. Every team has Damn fine QB's, we have a test to pass and maybe we have the answers to those passing tests.

The Kansas City Chiefs with all the changes have most key positions filled by Chiefs vets. Can we steal a March on our Foes?

Does Brian Daboll provide enough uncertainity in the opposition to give us a suprise factor come early season Game Day.

Suprise can win Games and it can win Campaigns.

History has many examples.....
