The playing time for the Kansas City Chiefs starters will depend on how efficient they are. The Green Bay Packers are taking a different approach, already admitting that the Packers starters won't be playing very much at all in Thursday's preseason finale.
"The starters will play a very limited time in the first quarter," McCarthy said.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, LB Clay Matthews and other entrenched players will do nothing more than make brief cameos against the Chiefs. Since becoming the starter in 2008, Rodgers has never played more than one series in the last preseason game.
Based on Romeo Crennel's history as head coach in Cleveland, I expect the Chiefs starters to play two series in Thursday's game. If they drive down and score on the opening drive I can see them coming out after one series, but I'm predicting two series' for them.
