For the first time since January, Dwayne Bowe will be in full pads for the Kansas City Chiefs. (Actually, he modeled the Chiefs new Nike uniforms in April, but whatever.) Bowe's acclimation period is over and he can step on the practice field and participate like everyone else at today's 11:30 a.m. practice.
Bowe will have today's and Wednesday's practice in full pads before a Thursday walk through. We're still not sure yet if that will be enough time for Romeo Crennel to make the decision to play him.
Peter King of SI.com said there's no way Bowe will learn the Chiefs entire offense by Week 1, let alone this Friday. Perhaps the Chiefs make a package of plays for him, or send him out there for a handful of snaps to get him back in the groove. Or they'll just sit him. The latest possible time we could have the question of Bowe's availability answered would be when inactives come out 90 minutes before Friday night's game.
