MY Chief Concern

Wow, what a roller coaster ride we are having with our most talented players. Will Bowe go or will he stay? Asked and answered! Now a top dog get's suspended for having an illegal plant, cannabis as reported by a CBS reporter. Something that I have a problem with, the illegality of the plant in itself, but this is football and not politics-so let's let that issue die right now. Flower's injury status is very problematic but is really an unknown so it's difficult to really lock down the answers for him and the team.

Earlier in another post, not by me, I postulated that the problem I had with this team is do they have the moxie, the grit, or the drive to punish other teams when it counts. Is it attitude or leadership-or both? Can we drive the ball down the field and score with the game on the line? Or do we come up short? Do we let some guy put a stud out for the year and let them walk away unscathed? Feel me on this, cause it's something that our old Super Bowl teams had and I haven't seen it here.

I have seen this teams #1 receiver drop balls which would have won games. I have seen poor interior blocking that resulted in blocked field goals that lost games. And running backs stuffed for no gain, no first downs and no touchdowns. I have seen this teams best safety get maimed and the other team walk away without suffering. Yet, I still see alot of talk, alot of posturing and prancing around that is nothing but PUNK. Is this team ever going to man up, or just be such high character wannabees?

This team has now been seasoned on and off the field. They have made the playoffs, experienced injuries to key players, coaching fiasco's and suspensions. Can they overcome themselves and man up to win when it counts? Can they show their teammates and the rest of the league that you don't come to our house and slap around our best players and get away with it?

You remember when Tom Brady was injured in a season opener game against our Chief's? Do you also remember our QB getting knocked out of the game in retaliation? Go watch that play and see the deliberate clamp the arm drive the shoulder into the ground and our QB put out of the game. The Patriot's surely served notice to the league that that is not acceptable and there will be consequences. When Eric Berry was maimed this team went belly up! I could cop out and blame Haley, but this isn't a coaching thing, it's a player thing. I still haven't seen the guy who "damns the consequences" and get's some payback. Let's the other team know that they ain't going to punk the Chief's.

You can say it's a different era, a different league and talk all you want. But actions speak louder than words on the field. Will our guys man up and make those catches? Will they get those first downs, field goals and touchdowns when it counts? Will they serve notice that they can't get away with bitch slapping our guys out of the game for the season? Maybe I'm wrong and it's just me that wants to see some old style football where winning is what matters and not how it's looks to the media. I understand about good character and the right 53, but I also understand that it takes more than that to win. Call it moxie, junkyard dog mean or man up, whatever you want, but until this team makes that leap from punk mentality we ain't going to win. This ain't just a "SHOW", it ain't just entertainment, it's also all out ball busting competition between men who overcome all obstacles and WIN!!!! GO CHIEF'S!!!!!!
