Every week we do a Q&A with a blogger covering the opposing team which means this week we're talking St. Louis Rams with Ryan Van Bibber of Turf Show Times. The first topic I wanted to cover should be fairly obvious.
Ryan, please give me your thoughts on Barry Richardson.
I think he should get on the bus with the Chiefs after this week's game and head back to Kansas City. Seriously, what did the Chiefs see in this guy? How is he still in the league when you can find undrafted rookies working for a fraction of the cost? I guess his run blocking is average, but both times the quarterback made a five-step drop on Sunday, pressure came from the right side, right around Barry Richardson.
The thing is, Richardson's one of the best guys they have. He's starting over the former No. 2 overall pick, Jason Smith. He was picked in Tyson Jackson's year and Jackson looks like a potential Hall of Famer compared to the guy picked one spot above him.
On Saturday night B-Rich will be holding it down against none other than Tamba Hali, the guy he used to go against in practice. Tamba was asked earlier this week about Richardson and he said they're friends. Wonder if that means he'll take it easy on him.
