Chiefs Player Who Replaced Retired Player Has Decided To Retire

Stay connected for news and updates

Early in training camp the Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent Tony Ugoh who spent a few days with the team before surprisingly deciding to call it quits and retire from the NFL.

The same thing has happened with the guy who was signed to replace him. Ray Willis, free agent offensive tackle signed after Ugoh's retirement, has decided to retire, according to the Chiefs.

So that's two free agent offensive tackles and two retirements.

I didn't think Willis played much into the Chiefs plans moving forward anyway. The starters are set with Brandon Albert and Eric Winston while the backup spot seems to be led by Donald Stephenson.

The Chiefs now have an open roster spot.
