is anthonyy torribio really going to be an upgrade at NT? and how will it impact the defensive line rotations if POE is only going to be playing passing downs?

Right now Toribio is an upgrade over a washed-up Kelly Gregg from a year ago. Nothing wrong with Poe playing in passing downs. Let him push up the middle and force the passer into the waiting arms of Hali and Houston.

How do you think the competition for the other inside linbacker opposite dj is going. Is Siler still dealing with his injury? He looks a step slow to me

There isn't much competition. Belcher is established. Siler is not 1000 percent, but he is a good special teams player, so he'll fill that role.

With so many reasons for optimism (talent, depth, coaching, preparation, chemistry, excecution all looking better than they have in years)... what are some of the risks that we need to keep in mind, you know, just to keep us grounded?

No. 1, Matt, that was the Arizona Cardinals they played the other night. Not only is that a bad team, they had been on the road for 10 days and couldn't have cared less about playing that game ...

No. 2, there's always the injury factor. If Cassel breaks his hand again ... they get struck by more knee injuries like last year ... and footballs take funny bounces. A critical fumble by Charles or McCluster ... or if Peyton Manning is the Peyton Manning of old (same for Philip Rivers), it could make things tough.
