The Kansas City Chiefs 90-man training camp roster is fluid and the Chiefs are always looking to upgrade the bottom of the roster. One of those potential upgrades is Edgar Jones, former Baltimore Ravens defensive end/linebacker. Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports Jones worked out for the Chiefs today. (Or is working out for the Chiefs today. Not sure what tense that was supposed to be.)
Jones originally signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He spent three seasons in Baltimore before moving onto the Washington Redskins last year, and then back to Baltimore.
He's served a number of roles including defensive end, linebacker and even tight end. His best role comes on special teams so I would imagine that's a big part of the reason the Chiefs are working him out.
Jones went to school in the state at Southeast Missouri State.
Jones working out has me wondering what Kyle McCarthy's injury is. If he has something serious, like season-ending, the Chiefs could be looking to fill his roster spot. No word yet on what McCarthy's injury is.
