Joel kind of made this point the other day, but some people who are defending Bowe's holdout still seem to be citing avoiding injury as a justifiable reason to hold out. I think, however, this is shortsighted. If Bowe gets injured after he signs his tag, he gets $9.5 mil no matter what. However, say he gets injured working out himself without having signed his tender. The team can rescind the tag and he'll just be an injured free agent with the same problems getting signed by another team that any injured player would have. He'd be worth less, not more.
