Previewing the Kansas City Chiefs roster as we prepare for the 2012 training camp schedule. The quarterbacks...

You can count on...Matt Cassel being the starter. There's no question about that. The Chiefs are fully committed to him and there haven't been any indications he's in danger of losing his job. The only competition will be between Quinn and Stanzi for the No. 2 job. There's pretty much no way I see Tanney making the active roster.

The big question mark...Who will be the No. 2 QB? Stanzi or Quinn. A recent ESPN report indicated that the Chiefs are very high on Stanzi which would seemingly put him in the lead, but we really have no idea. This will be a legit battle throughout camp. The first depth chart comes out the week of the Cardinals game on Aug. 10 so we'll have a better idea then. My initial guess is that Quinn wins this battle, but that's subject to change (daily).

Random notes:
  • ESPN says the Chiefs love Stanzi
  • Quinn worked with Romeo Crennel in Cleveland
  • Cassel is a three-year starter in KC
  • Tanney is the trick shot QB
