Chiefs Visit College QB Who Suffered Spinal Cord Injury

Stay connected for news and updates

Current and former members of the Kansas City Chiefs met with Matt Bollig, an Ottawa University football player, who is suffered serious spinal injuries in a weight lifting accident last week.

Bollig suffered the injury last Wednesday while lifting weights. He lost feeling in his legs at which point the football staff called 911. He is currently paralyzed.

The Chiefs went out to see him in Overland Park today to give him an NFL sendoff before he takes off to a Denver hospital for spinal cord rehabilitation.

A friend of mine was paralyzed in an accident a few years back and also spent time at a Denver-area hospital known for spinal cord rehabilitation. I remember how important all the support was at a critical time like this so I'm sure the Bollig family appreciates it.
