RamX21 joined the 1,789,903,299th Matt Cassel suxbuthesgoodenoughandthatsallwegot thread yesterday and had this to say:

Oh my god, I can't believe people still defend him

Followed later by this:

Most of his yards come from his playmakers making YAC.

I thought this to be something to tackle so I give you six play makers below that might tell us the story. The stats show you three seasons worth of our very own play makers. They DO include the times Cassel was not quarterbacking, but I still think it tells enough. In the end, it looks like 44% of the yards gained below came after the catch.

Now I have no idea if this is high or low and I am far too busy (not really) to figure other QBs and WRs into the equation; and if I did go the extra miles to find out other numbers it would just appear to be another stat driven bullet headed towards my favorite team. That is not my goal; but I do find it interesting to think about.

So, finally we find out RamX21 was probably wrong about his statement above; and he WAS wrong unless other players not listed below sway the number enough. I don't believe BWade, LPope, LLong, BCottam, TCopper, TJones and all the rest will make any noticeable difference.

Is it concerning to you that nearly half our yards receiving by our play makers over the last three seasons have come after the catch? This needs a poll.
