It seems like around this time of year we have Kansas City Chiefs players out in the community more often. They don't have actual games to keep them busy so maybe I'm just noticing the Chiefs player-related events going on around town.

KCChiefs.com has the story of Matt Cassel and the Chiefs specialists visiting Children's Mercy Hospital this week. I also heard of another cool event going on this week -- the HOPE Walk and Touch a Truck Event, benefiting the Braden's Hope organization.

This year's event is being held in partnership with the City of Olathe, Kansas and will be held at Frontier Park in Olathe near Blackbob and Indian Creek Parkway (near the Olathe Public Library).We will have our traditional balloon release and banners carried by teams supporting childhood cancer heroes and angels. Following the walk, all registrants are invited to enjoy the free food, carnival like games, and the Touch A Truck, Etc event that will feature large trucks such as firetrucks, excavators, and the like that the kids can touch!

The event is this Saturday, June 9, from 9-11:00 a.m. (Arrowhead Time).

The Chiefs hook is that some players will be there signing autographs. You'll remember some players worked on this calendar with Braden's Hope last year.
