Considering he's one of the top offensive tackles in football it shouldn't come as a surprise that Eric Winston has been rated the top offensive lineman in the AFC West, at least according to the rankings of ESPN's AFC West blog.
1. Eric Winston, T, Kansas City: Arguably the best right tackle in the NFL. The Chiefs scored major with this free-agent signing.
Branden Albert is rated the seventh best lineman in the division but it's who's ahead of that I find interesting. Bill Williamson has Albert as the fourth left tackle on the list, which means he's the lowest-ranked starter. Denver Broncos LT Ryan Clady comes in at No. 2 behind Winston, LT Jared Veldheer is ranked fifth and Jared Gaither, released by the Chiefs last season, comes one spot ahead of Albert.
The rest of the Chiefs offensive line is ranked -- G Jon Asamoah at No. 12, G Ryan Lilja at No. 13 and C Rodney Hudson at No. 18.
I'd guess Asamoah's ranking continues to rise in the coming years and soon we'll see Jeff Allen ranked on this list.
