Wallace Gilberry is officially gone. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they signed Gilberry to a one-year contract.

We could see Gilberry's exit coming. GM Scott Pioli admitted as much in an early May interview with 810 WHB, saying it's "probably accurate" that Gilberries would be traveling out of KC (see what I did there?). Pioli said they talked to Gilberry about a contract extension during the season but that Gilberry wasn't ready to make that move yet. No word from Gilberry's side on what happened there.

Gilberry spent the last four seasons with the Chiefs, most notably the 2010 season when he was second on the team with seven sacks. With a decreasing role, Gilberry's production was down last season.

I've been wondering where he'd end up. Best of luck to him down in Tampa. He engaged the fans and became a bit of a fan favorite around KC. It seems like he's tried to make the best out of the situation. He went undrafted so he's already exceeded expectations in the NFL.
