Your daily Dino Hackett update:
Dino Hackett, who was an All-America linebacker at Appalachian State University and with the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League, was inducted into the Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame Thursday night. Hackett played a number of sports at Southern Guilford High School, but football turned out to be his calling. He went to ASU and played four years, gaining accolades for his play at linebacker. He was named first team All-America in 1985, when he made more than 200 tackles. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs and played eight seasons in the NFL. He led the Chiefs in tackles five times and made the Pro Bowl in 1988.
Talk about a blast from the past. I haven't thought of Dino Hackett's name in years but I love all those players from the late '80s and '90s.
Most random name from that era: Dino Hackett or Percy Snow?
