"I remember the first week I was just getting used to the red covers," Routt said of moving to KC. "But now, it's syncing in. Everything is slowing down, especially with the defense and the guys that you're playing with. I think that the sky is going to be the limit for the defense this year, along with the offense as well."
Routt will be sharing the field with CB Brandon Flowers, the Chiefs top cornerback, and he said the relationship between them is improving.
"It's actually pretty good," Routt said of he and Flowers' relationship. "When I first got here, we really didn't talk much, but it's going real well now. I've always seen him from the other side of the field in years past and always admired his play then. Playing alongside him now, I can tell that it's going to be a real good year."
Those two will get even closer during training camp when the only things to do are to hang out with each other or hit up the local Wal-Mart (or Uncle D's bar!).
