The Kansas City Chiefs will have more than a month off starting now. The players finished up the final day of mandatory minicamp today which is the final part of the offseason for the Chiefs before training camp.

We heard what Romeo Crennel said about his going away message to the Chiefs. For their part, the players are saying all the right things about their time off coming up. Several of them said on Thursday that they're still planning on working out with this time off.

Brandon Flowers: "No, you have to keep working out. You have to stay on top of this tip-top shape they've got us in and get ready to go for camp."

Dexter McCluster: "Me personally, I'm going to go home to my family, to my daughter, spend time with the family, but still work out and train so I can be ready when I come back."

Dontari Poe: "Work out. A lot of that...a lot of working out. A lot of staying out of trouble and that's it. Trying to keep reading this playbook just so I can know how everything is."

Todd Haley used to talk about being able to hit the ground running in training camp, meaning this five week down time needs to be used to stay in shape.
