While we await some news on the Kansas City Chiefs mandatory minicamp today, I wanted to take a step back in time for a quick glance at mandatory minicamps of years past. Whenever I hear mandatory minicamp I always think of that offseason leading into the 2009 offseason.

Brian Waters was unhappy and didn't show up to the voluntary portions of the offseason. Same with Mike Vrabel, who was absent as well.

And then...

After missing all of the previous offseason workouts, guard Brian Waters and linebacker Mike Vrabel arrived today for the first day of the Chiefs' mandatory minicamp.

Remember how big of a deal that was back then, and all the drama surrounding Waters? I remember that quite well.

That's your flashback for the day. To get us back into the present tense, Waters did not attend the Patriots mandatory minicamp today.
