Get out your honing stones and sharpen your knives so you can flay me to pieces. what I am about to suggest boggles my own mind and I had to share it with you all. We all understand about having friends, and how sometimes you can use them as a sounding board, right? Kind of like Sean Payton calling Bill Parcell's once a week. You know a mentor who helped you get where you are today and has actually occupied the same type of job, coach in the NFL. Well this isn't about Parcell's and his relationship with his son-in-law, even so it could be happening there as well.
Nope, I am discussing our ex coordinator Charlie Weis. We all have read about the connection that is there with these old comrades of New England's super run, when they won several Super Bowl's. Now Charlie is across town and the state line coaching the hated KU Football program, can you tell I am a Mizzou man, and has several ties to our staff and another tie in with our back-up QB. I could be having a pipe dream here, but he coached Brady Quinn in college and may have some hidden tidbit's of knowledge he could share with Brian Daboll, a guy that could be said to have had Charlie as a mentor while learning offensive football at the pro level. Were they not in New England at the same time when Charlie was the OC?
Throw in RAC and Scott Pioli, both who have a long history with Coach Weis themselves. Perhaps, and I don't know this, when Charlie is recruiting and has some guys in touring the facility there could be an appearance or two by a friend of his whom is currently on the Chief's staff and suggests that they couldn't find a better coach than Coach Weis. Perhaps Charlie could drop a line to his old friends and tell them of a guy whom his team just played that the Chief's might want to get their scout's to look at. OK already, it's a slow weekend and I had this thought so I let it out to be discussed or cussed, however you feel about it. Go Chief's!!!
