Overall Thoughts -

Pioli has been unbiased when it comes to drafting offense or defense. He has drafted 3 Defensive starters in the 1st round, which might state that he feels safer going defense over offense. Outside of Eric Berry, Pioli has yet to draft a player than many experts would call a star. That being said Justin Houston , Dontarie Poe , and Jon Baldwin may have the potential to get there.

Going into next season, most critics will state that the Chiefs 3 weakest positions are Quarterback, Inside Linebacker, and Free Safety. (Halfback, Defensive End, and Wide Out could be needs as well. ) The only positions Scott Pioli has NOT drafted in his 4 years are Inside Linebacker and Punter.

The bottom line for most fans is quarterback. Although the Patriots were many things, Pioli gained a reputation for one reason - He was the man who found Tom Brady. That being said, he's only drafted one Quarterback in 4 years. And Tyler Palko looked nothing like Brady and everything like Brodie Croyle.

Despite it going against his reputation, Pioli will be on the hotseat - not this offeseason but next - if he can't find a Brady like QB.
