Rumors were flying before and during the 2012 NFL Draft that the Kansas City Chiefs were trying to trade Dwayne Bowe, who has been issued the franchise tag, but has yet to sign the tender. I'm not even really sure where the rumors came from but folks were talking about it.
Chiefs GM Scott Pioli went on 810 WHB this morning with Steven St. John and Nate Bukaty and strongly denied that was the case.
I'll tell you this. I had heard someone...I don't know if it was said, or written, I don't know which one but someone told me about it and I will say unequivocally, 100 percent untrue. We never talked to anyone about a trade for Dwayne. I didn't. Romeo didn't. No one who would have anything to do with the trade called or talked to anybody, nor did we field any calls. So wherever that came from I will say unequivocally, 100 percent untrue. We did not talk to, nor are we looking to talk to anyone about a trade for Dwayne Bowe.
"100 percent untrue"....a close cousin of "100 percent false."
So that's that. I'm still confused as to where the rumors came from in the first place.
