Yeremiah Bell 'Likely' To Sign With Jets Or Eagles

Stay connected for news and updates

The Kansas City Chiefs were reportedly one of four finalists for the services of free agent safety Yeremiah Bell. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said yesterday that the Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets were the four finalists and Bell would sign with one of those teams within 24 hours.

It's now been 24 hours and while we don't have a decision, it appears the Chiefs are out of the mix. Philly sports talk radio host Howard Eskin reports that Bell's decision is likely to come down to the Jets or Eagles, which means KC isn't expected to happen.

The Chiefs clearly want a veteran safety to add to the mix. OJ Atogwe was worked out a few weeks ago and Bell visited KC this week. There aren't a lot of options in May because most of the good players have been signed.

We'll wait for the official word on where Bell signs but it sounds like his next home won't have an 816 area code.
