Chiefs Make A Few Moves In Their Personnel Department

The days and weeks after the NFL Draft is when teams often make moves in the scouting and personnel department. The Chiefs made a few moves on Thursday announcing two promotions and one new hire.

Jim Nagy, who spent 7 years with the Patriots before joining the Chiefs, was promoted from regional scout to national scout. Kyle O'Brien, a former Patriots scout for the last 10 years, was hired as a regional scout. Ryne Nutt, who attended GM Scott Pioli's alma mater, Central Connecticut State, was elevated from scouting assistant to area scout.

The Chiefs didn't announce any other moves.

After the jump I posted the Chiefs bios for these guys.

Nagy enters his fourth season with Kansas City and his first as a national scout. He spent his first three seasons as a regional scout. Before joining the Chiefs, Nagy spent seven years as a scout with New England (2002-08). The Frankfort, Mich., native began his NFL scouting career as an intern with Green Bay during its Super Bowl XXXI season in 1996. Nagy graduated from the University of Michigan in 1996.

O'Brien enters his first season with the Chiefs as a regional scout and begins his 11th campaign in the National Football League. Prior to joining the Chiefs, O'Brien spent 10 seasons (2002-11) as a full-time staff member with the New England Patriots' personnel department. He originally joined the Patriots as a player personnel intern in 2000 and continued those duties during the Patriots' first Super Bowl season in 2001 while attending Harvard. Before his tenure in New England, O'Brien was a player personnel intern for the New York Jets in 1999. The Garden City, N.Y., native graduated from Harvard in 2002 where he played lacrosse.

Nutt enters his third season with the Chiefs and his first as an area scout. In his first two NFL seasons, Nutt served as a scouting assistant in the Chiefs personnel department. Prior to joining the Chiefs, he spent one season as the tight ends coach at Wagner College (2009). In 2008, he served as the defensive line coach at Iona College. Nutt began his career as a volunteer assistant offensive line coach at Central Connecticut State, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude after spending four seasons playing offensive line for the Blue Devils. Nutt was a Mid-Major All-American on the field as well as an academic All-American his junior and senior years.
