The Kansas City Chiefs spent a 7th round pick, their final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, on Michigan WR Junior Hemingway. In my post-draft grading of the picks, I said not to expect much from Hemingway because history says a 7th round pick won't amount to much.

ESPN's Mel Kiper would disagree with that. He said in a Monday conference call that Hemingway in the 7th round was one of the steals of the draft.

"You're talking about a guy that could've been a fourth-round pick, and I don't think anybody could have had a real big argument with that," Kiper said of Hemingway on Monday during a conference call. "That to me was one of the better picks in the late rounds. I think he'll have a great opportunity to help that football team."

NFL Draft Scout had Hemingway rated as a 5th-6th round pick.

I'm gonna be curious to see where Hemingway fits in. Looking at the Chiefs depth chart, I can't figure out where he'll contribute.
