The Kansas City Chiefs have completed the 2012 NFL Draft with eight new draft picks to add to the team.
So...too early to look towards 2013?
SB Nation has their 2013 NFL mock draft posted and, before we even look at it, let's state the obvious: this list will change dramatically. I don't think many people had Ryan Tannehill as a first round pick at this time last year. And people had Vontaze Burfict as a potential first round pick at this time last year, and he ended up going undrafted.
So lots of things will change.
With that said, the Chiefs pick in the 2013 NFL mock draft...
20. Kansas City Chiefs, E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida State: Next year's draft could have a very deep class of quarterbacks. Will the Chiefs find a long-term solution?
I don't know how this will pan out next year with the specific players but I wouldn't mind the Chiefs taking a quarterback high in next year's draft. The top of the draft is really the only place you're going to find that "franchise" quarterback. At least it's the most likely place you'll find one. So I like the idea of the Chiefs burning a pick on a quarterback.
We'll have a better idea of the actual players once these guys, you know, take the field next year.
