The Kansas City Chiefs have yet to announce their undrafted free agent class after the 2012 NFL Draft but we know of at least one player they were interested in, before he was drafted. Pro Football Talk passes along comments from Northern Illinois QB Chandler Harnish, this year's Mr. Irrelevant pick from the Indianapolis Colts, and he says the Chiefs were one of the teams he was talking to as the draft was winding down.
"I was getting calls from like the Kansas City Chiefs, the Tennessee Titans, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, just a bunch of teams were - and I'm talking to my agent every three minutes," Harnish explains. "It looked like we were about ready to set up a free agency deal. I was ready to go to San Diego . . . ."
And then the Colts drafted him.
Interesting that the Chiefs were interested. Some of us expected them to add a quarterback in this draft but they never did. Kirk Cousins seemed like a possibility in the mid rounds, but the Washington Redskins selected him. Brock Osweiler also seemed like a possibility but the Denver Broncos picked him up.
So no quarterbacks in this year's draft for the Chiefs. Surprised?
