Still on day their are a lot of good players left on the board, and a lot of needs the Chiefs need to fill. QB, RB, FB, more O-line, more D-line, LB, and DB are still positions we I would be happy taking. I like Dontari Poe pick. he could make the D-line dominant, if only for a season before Glen Dorsey hits free agency. Jeff Allen or Donald Stephenson wasn't who I was wanting at G, they look like insurance should Brandon Albert leave in free agency, but it could have been worse, they could have selected a punter like Jacksonville.
I like a few of the players still on the board, at QB Kirk Cousins and Darron Thomas are the only ones left that will make a roster for more than a season, they are both better than Ricky Stanzi. I know some people will want to take flyer on Kellen Moore in the 7th round, but his arm reminds of Tyler Palko, so pass on him.
The RB has a few players that could contribute to the team, If they do select one they should take one until the 7th round. Bobby Rainey or Brycye Brown might still be there. Either one wouldn't be expected to do much, I think Rainey would contribute more on special teams but Brown has more potential.
The Chiefs could just pick up more beef up front and open up competition on both sides of the ball. I don't think Brandon Albert, Glen Dorsey or Tyson Jackson will get a 2nd contract unless they are willing to take a significant pay cut. Amon Gordon and Allen Bailey were both impressive in playing time last year but they could always use more competition. Billy Winn, Jared Crick, Alameda Ta'amu, Josh Chapman, Kheeston Randall, Jaye Howard, are all still on the board and viable options depending on what round you want to select them in. Just because they selected Dontari Poe doesn't mean they won't select another NT. Poe might be a possible replacement for Dorsey at DE.
The O-line could still use some depth. Rodney Hudson doesn't have back-up and their are quite a few centers still on the board. I think Ben Jones, Dave Molk, Michael Brewster, Phillip Blake and William Vlachos could be starters in the league. I think you can still get guards at this point that are better than Lilja, James Brown, and Marcel Jones come to mind.
Linebacker is looking thin, as far as contributors go. Jovan Belcher has been solid, he doesn't make many mistakes but he doesn't make many spectacular plays either. I think the Chiefs have got to take chance on Vontaze Burfict, I know he an outa-shape head case but makes plays, he can rush the passer from the ILB, and he intimidates the other team. Both qualities that Jovan Belcher lacks. If Travis Lewis makes it to the 7th I wouldn't be opposed to taking him to play ILB, he is a good coverage LB, would could spell Derrick Johnson should he get injured.
The cornerback position could use some depth. I am not sold on Stanford Routt. After Routt, they could try and bump Arenas up from nickel back. Arenas is a playmaker. Their are some good CB's still on the board, I think Chase Minnefield can be a starter in the league. Alfonzo Dennard, at this point is also a viable pick.
I don't know that I can take another year of John Mcgraw and Sabby Piscettli missing tackles and blowing coverages. But it isn't a good year for safety depth. Markelle Martin, George Illoka, and maybe Janzen Jackson are the only ones who I think can upgrade the Chiefs saftey depth.
