The Kansas City Chiefs have been connected to Boston College LB Luke Kuechly as much as any player in the 2012 NFL draft but there's reason to believe Kuechly won't be available when the Chiefs pick at No. 11. NFL Network's Mike Mayock's 2012 NFL mock draft projected Kuechly to the Buffalo Bills at No. 10 and our Bills blog, Buffalo Rumblings, explains why that's noteworthy.
Mayock should be revered throughout the Buffalo Bills fan base for his mock draft accuracy. He has correctly predicted Buffalo's last four first-round draft choices inMarcell Dareus, C.J. Spiller, Aaron Maybin and Leodis McKelvin (as well as Donte Whitner in 2006). In 2007, he had Marshawn Lynch falling to No. 22 when the Bills took him at No. 12.
So, yeah, Mayock has a pretty good handle on the Bills. If he's right this time then Kuechly will not be available for the Chiefs with the 11th pick. At that point, you'd have to think David DeCastro, Mark Barron or others are under consideration for that pick.
