The new CBA has altered the way things are getting done in the league, and we will likely see more of how these changes occur during the draft. I was listening not long ago to a very well respected NFL insider, who would be in a position to postulate on this, and he suggests that there will be several trades going on. And that these trades will involve players more so than ever before. So expect some player movement along with the traditional draft picks.
Seeing as we have some guys nearing the end of their contracts, we or Scotty Pioli, may send some of our talent packing in a deal. Business is Business and don't ever forget that is what our GM was hired to take care of. I think we do not have as many untouchable players as we think, even as the roster has been greatly improved. Pioli has been shown to be rather savvy in making deals, so it will most likely benefit our team, whether we approve or disapprove of it.
Having said all this, it doesn't mean we will be trading players, but the possibility is there. So be forewarned that this year is different than what we have seen in the past. Perhaps some team trades up to us at pick 11. Maybe we take their first round pick, this years or next, and a player that could help our team now. So get ready for some fun on draft day as it will likely have some more wrinkles in than usually seen. Go Chief's!!!!
