It's official: 2012 is the year we play the underdog card. The Kansas City Chiefs 2012 schedule came out on Tuesday evening and the first games comes against Tony Gonzalez and the Atlanta Falcons. Vegas has already determined that the Falcons are a one-point favorite over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
I suppose I can see that but this ain't the NFC South. Arrowhead Stadium is louder than most if not all stadiums in which the Falcons play. Tony G. probably knows this.
Matt Bowen of National Football Post had a pretty cool write-up looking at the NFL's schedule release from a players perspective. One of the highlights was the first game. "Once you find out who (and where) you are playing when the season kicks off," Bowen writes, "the meetings-starting in the offseason-will be tailored to fit the personnel and scheme of your first opponent."
Man, I am ready to play right now. All summer long it's gonna be about beating the Week 1 opponent and it makes me even more anxious that the Chiefs are 'dogs in this game.
