BPA vs. Need

What would you rather do in a Draft? Draft the BPA or draft a position of need? The Chiefs were very lucky a couple years back where arguably Eric Berry was both, but more often in the draft, especially the 1st round you are forced to pick one or the other. It seems like an easy question at first but the deeper you get the more convoluted it gets.

Would you pick a player above their draft grade if you really had a need at that position? The flip side is that if you don't then you will have a glaring weakness at that position for the next year? Would it be wise to throw the next season in the crapper to draft the BPA? Would we have had to draft a tackle this year in the first if the chiefs didn't get Winston? Can you afford to pass on Adrian Peterson if you need a LT THAT bad and Levi Brown is still there, and you don't think there will be a good LT in the 2nd-7th rd?

Or would you rather have a perennial pro bowler even if that is a position of strength and/or depth on the team? Could you Draft Aaron Rodgers if you have Favre? Do you do it when you have glaring team needs that can't be filled elsewhere? Could you do it knowing that who you drafted couldn't even help you that year? What if the BPA is Ryan Tannehill?

So what would you do?
