Kansas City Chiefs Brass Will Talk Today

Stay connected for news and updates

The Kansas City Chiefs brass -- GM Scott Pioli and head coach Romeo Crennel -- will be speaking with reporters out at Arrowhead today. This is the annual pre-draft press conference they hold every year and it'll come at 3:00 p.m. today.

This is the time of year where you have to question everything that a GM or head coach says. There's always a strategy involved. A couple years ago at this time we were dissecting a nugget of information in Peter King's MMQB which had Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff quoting a conversation he had with Pioli in which the Chiefs GM said No. 5 is obviously way too high for a safety.

And then the Chiefs drafted Eric Berry. So, yeah.

These pre-draft press conferences are usually somewhat generic but if you look, there are some clues in there. Maybe not the best clues, but there are some. Pioli said a few weeks before the start of free agency that the offensive line was a priority and, as we saw, the Chiefs treated it as such, grabbing the top offensive tackle available.

So keep an eye on what Pioli has to say today. We'll see if he drops any hints on which way he's leaning.
