Quarterback Competition 2012?

Quarterback Competition in 2012?

Not likely. With Romeo Crennel as head coach for the Chiefs in 2012, the fantasy of an epic quarterback competition between Orton and Cassel, is very unlikely, and not in Chiefs nature anyways. Crennel being the type of coach who wants a set quarterback going into camp. Chiefs fans should not expect Cassel and Orton on the roster for 2012, and it is probably safe to say that Orton will probably be the one absent. People can whine and moan about Cassel all they want, but statistically he is no worse than Orton. In fact, Matt holds the candle when it comes to QB rating by about 3 points.

Stanzi got a chance? No. Sorry Iowa fans, not here, not now. At least you still have Moeaki to fall back on, go Hawkeyes, right? Nothing on Stanzi, but I don't think it'd be a smart move anyways.

Palko's future? What. A. Joke.

Possibility of Peyton Manning to KC. As much as I think every Chiefs fan would like to see that one, it is a mere fantasy. In saying that, it would be a power team in my opinion. A young tight end in Moeaki, a receiver in his sophomore season, Baldwin, a veteran in Breaston, and the obvious Pro Bowl receiver and touchdown machine, Dwayne Bowe, with this receiving core Manning could have a hay day. Not to mention the Chiefs dynamic running game with versatile McCluster and the return of Charles. Now that we have covered offense, I think the defense goes without saying. Beside the basis of the team, Manning also has a relationship with Pioli (sort of), offensive quality control coach Jim Bob Cooter, and offensive guard Ryan Lilja. Sound like some sort of dream team? Yes, because that is exactly what it is, a dream team.

Draft Time… RG3? How about unrealistic? First of all, they won't pick up a quarterback in this draft when they have all these other options. Second, He will be gone by the time it is the Chiefs turn to pick, and do not think for a second they will trade up for him. In my opinion, it is idiotic to trade a proven reliable player for a player coming out of college, so don't count on that one.

So who is your 2012 starter at QB Kansas City? It is Matt Cassel, probably not the best decision, but it is what we will get. Oh, but don't forget, we can still hope for a Peyton possibility, similar to Joe Montana's story. Let's just hope Ryan Succop does not have any relation to Lin Elliot.
