The Ron Jeremy approach to Free Agency: Filling Holes

While I respect the sentiment of a lot of KC fans that the Chiefs should draft DeCastro or Martin in round one of the draft, I've had a different thought come to mind.

The Chiefs have a lot of options this off season but has occurred to me recently is that the Chiefs, and any team for that matter, draft much better when they don't have a glaring hole on the roster they need to fill. That is why I really think the Chiefs need to address what we all generally see as the biggest holes on the roster in some form or fashion during free agency. I see those holes in not particularly any order as: OT, NT, RB, QB, S, and TE. The team could also use some competition at the LG and DE positions but those are much lower priorities at this point.

If the team were able to get credible proven veterans (preferably 4-6 year vets) at these positions in FA, that opens up all of the possibilities of the draft and being able to capitalize on a player being unexpectedly available at #11.
