Last week the Kansas City Chiefs visited with Jerricho Cotchery, a free agent receiver. Cotchery will be 30 years old when next season starts so the Chiefs are apparently interested in adding a veteran receiver.
Cotchery played for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season but, if they have anything to say about it, Cotchery won't be signing with the Chiefs. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Steelers GM Kevin Colbert hopes to hang onto Cotchery.
Cotchery is an unrestricted free agent who already has visited the Kansas City Chiefs. Wallace is a restricted free agent that teams have until April 20 to sign.
Colbert expressed optimism that both will be with the Steelers - at least for the upcoming season.
So maybe the Chiefs won't be signing him. We'll see in the coming days.
If you get sometimes frustrated by the Chiefs activity, or lack thereof, in free agency, then you would never be able to be a Steelers fan. Pittsburgh is among the least active teams in free agency.
But they win a lot of Super Bowls so...
