I don't know about you, but one of the biggest things to happen in this "new" year in pro football was the trade that happened yesterday between the Texans and the Eagles. The Eagles getting a starting, PRO BOWL LB for a fourth round pick is mind boggling. Think about it a little while folks, a starting top tier talent at an inside LB position for a fourth round pick. and this guy isn't a one hit wonder, he has gone to 2 Pro Bowls that I remember. I think we could of used him here in KC.
So I was thinking about which of the cap strapped teams are in a fever to unload some quality players like the Texans. Foremost comes the hated raiders whom we already plundered twice now for starting players. A few days ago I speculated we might be able to pick up Seymour for a first, but maybe that would cost plenty less in this present day market.. How about Mike Wallace? Pretty far fetched with Bowe here, but for how long? So much speculation about our first pick, why not a young proven stud wideout with jets to get downfield? with Baldwin being similar to Bowe do you actually think Bowe wants to stay and share? Maybe sign Wallace and trade Bowe for 2 #2's?
I like trading picks for proven players, especially in a buyers market like this one. What other teams need to make the cap limit with players we could use? Wonder where Scotty is with this? could we something similar here? The balance of power is shifting right before our eyes as some teams are losing very important pieces and we have gained some. As Scotty said they are not done as of yet, so a trade might still be had that improves this beloved team of ours. Go Chief's!!
