Walter's Take
Kansas City Chiefs: Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis The Chiefs took care of most of their needs in the offseason. They filled their void at right tackle with Eric Winston. They added some insurance behind Jamaal Charles by signing Special Agent Peyton Hillis. They found a replacement for Brandon Carr in Stanford Routt. One area that still needs to be fixed is the nose tackle position. Incumbent starter Kelly Gregg, 35, is contemplating retirement this offseason. He's a free agent anyway. *** OTHER 2012 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: *** 1. David DeCastro, G - Kansas City also has to address the interior of its offensive line. DeCastro has the potential to be the best guard in the NFL over the next decade. 2. Luke Kuechly, ILB - This would be a pure best-player-available pick because the Chiefs have absolutely no need for an inside linebacker. ********** Also of interest Walter had this to say about the Carolina Panthers 1. Riley Reiff, OT/G - Charlie Campbell recently reported that the Panthers will be looking into an offensive tackle at this spot. Reiff would provide insurance for Jeff Otah, and could play guard if the right tackle manages to stay healthy for once.
