INDIANAPOLIS, IN - FEBRUARY 05: Runningback BenJarvus Green-Ellis #42 of the New England Patriots runs the ball against Kenny Phillips #21 and Michael Boley #59 of the New York Giants in the third quarter during Super Bowl XLVI at Lucas Oil Stadium on February 5, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is off the market. According to multiple reports, Green-Ellis reached a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, who are trying to replace Cedric Benson.
The running back market is slooow this year. Peyton Hillis got a one year deal with the Chiefs worth less than $3 million. Mike Tolbert only got $2.5 million per year from the Panthers.
And now, over a week after free agency starter, Green-Ellis is finally signing. He got a three-year deal.
I thought the Chiefs would be interested in him as a guy to pair with Jamaal Charles but, as far as I know, there was never a visit or anything more than just speculation that GM Scott Pioli would have interest given his history with Green-Ellis.
