Elway can still fail.

Stay connected for news and updates

Even though Elway, through his similar interest in horses, was able to corral Manning into Denver (with 96 million bucks) he could still fail. If Manning is unable to play when the season starts, or if he gets injured at all during the season, when Elway trades Tebow, they have no one to fill in. Suppose Manning gets hit and, God forbid, re-injures his neck. If it happens this year then they're only out 18 million (only, haha). If it happens next year, they're out 54 million. Reports are conflicting on how susceptible Manning is to re-injury and if he's even ready to play again. Seems to me that this is an awfully high price to pay for such uncertainty. But any failure for Elway is good for a Chiefs' fan.
