While Big Glenn has done well for our team, most of us have been somewhat disappointed with his pass rush efforts, whether it's our scheme or his talent, which is the culprit? Many are also resenting his big money contract and that translates to some dissatisfaction within this matrix. Toss in a rumour of his impending exit to a 4-3 team after his contract plays out and the stars are lining up for a trade. Getting something in return would be good business, hate to see him leave like Carr, maybe Bowe, without having accrued some kind of talent or draft choices.
Enter the New Orleans Saints, not only his home state team, but a team that has showed interest in the past. Back in the time of the drafting of Dorsey, the Saints offered a great deal, and was refused by then GM Peterson. Since then the Saints have tried to fill the DT position several times, and interestingly enough a older Shuan Rodgers who some like in FA for our team this year. The Saints drafted Cam Jordan last year, and his game includes some rush element. He may not be the best looking DE out there, but is learning the pro game and should become a reliable asset to whoever has him on their team.
Sure this is speculation in many ways. Foremost is the rumour that Dorsey wants out of KC. If he does want out, and we are in a position to find a trade partner like the Saints, that has a talent we could use, and most likely their best draft picks are going to be lost to bountygate, we could end up with a player to step into Glenn's spot with some pass rush skills. Oh well, just a thought, since it keeps being brought up, having to extend Dorsey's contract or that he might want to leave. .
