KC Chiefs Sign TE Kevin Boss

Stay connected for news and updates

Only a few hours after Joel gave us the latest update on the Kansas City Chiefs free agent visits, we learn via Josh Looney that former NY Giant/Oakland Raider TE Kevin Boss has signed with the Chiefs. Boss was one of the free agent visits the Chiefs had reportedly set up today. Previously, TE John Carlson was in Kansas City but quickly left for the Minnesota Vikings, where he signed an (overpriced) contract.

Kevin Boss' Chiefs contract is reportedly a three-year deal worth $9 million. As Adam Caplan noted, Boss will also receive $2 million from the Raiders.

Joel said this about Boss when we learned of his visit:

Without Carlson, the Chiefs have turned their attention to Kevin Boss. Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com reports Kevin Boss is scheduled to come in for a visit. Boss was originally the Giants fifth round pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He signed a multi-year deal with the Raiders last year in free agency and like so many other former Raiders they cut him a year into the contract.

The Kevin Boss signing is the second addition the Chiefs have made this free agency period. The first was RB Peyton Hillis.
