Arrowhead pride: It’s a great concept and a great name. t binds us together in our common interest, passion, hobby, and ultimate love for ALL things Red and Gold- The Kansas City Chiefs.
Every year at this time-date- group we become mad, aggravated, disheartened amongst other things i.e. Clark Hunt is frugal, Pioli is not righting the ship.. we don’t ever go after the big time splash FA signing yada yada yada… And not to be a hypocrite I myself feel that way.. have felt that way.. and until last night did in fact say those things and other things about the amount of money we have in cap space and a lack of action…
The phrase was " In Pioli we trust" or " The Don knows what he is doing" and then the " Fear the beard" last year with Haley.. WE are a fickle bunch of fans. We sos much yearn for the Championship, the respect, national attention and acknowledgment of who we are we have become blinded with the "Manning frenzy" again I myself acknowledge I too had become victim of it.. but now, here on AP, we are and the topic of discussion has been WHO is our QB…
Is is Mcnabb, Quinn maybe even...and it's a stomach wrenching statement.. Teebow? Good Lord have we lost our collectiv minds on this issue?
We already know who he is… follow me after the jump..
It’s Matt Cassel.
I know what a huge let down. Let me sum up Cassel for you in my opinion.
Webster defines it as :
Definition of MEDIOCRITY
a : the quality or state of being mediocre b : moderate ability or value
: a mediocre person
Examples of MEDIOCRITY (my opinion)
1. We were disappointed by the mediocrity of the RED ZONE Offense.
2. He thought that he was a good starting Quarterback in the NFL and that all his fellow teammates were just mediocrities.
If Webster’s had a photographic log it would contain the following:
Matt Cassel is the QB for the 2012 season. Period. End of statement. And we all know it’s the last portion of the puzzle for breaking the 7 time post season losing streak. To my knowledge he has 2 years left on his current contract. Now I do not completely hate on Cassel; He is a great leader, he has his moments in spurts but his in ability is what stands out. He is a great backup Quarterback but he is mediocre as a starter.
Now this is my humble opinion.
I say we stick to what it appears we are doing. Filling all the holes we have. I can only hope that we sign RB Tolbert, OT Winston and TE Boss and call this FA period a good measurement of where we are going and shaoing up as a 53 Man Roster.
So what about the Quartback? the top spot, the fearless leader?!? Thats the question mark at hand. I say we stick what we have.
Matt Cassel - not by choice. He is the incumbant, he is the starter.
Ricky Stanzi – 2nd String/Backup QB – Which he WILL get a shot when (IMHO) the loud and thunderous "Boos" echo from the vast Sea of Red in the cathedral that is Arrowhead Stadium.
The question I present to you AP is who will we pick up as our 3rd QB?
I think it will be Case Keenum or maybe the kid from Michigan but Im not that involved with the QB's in this draft.
I do no think it will be a FA, unless for some odd reason Manning decides he wants to win and comes to Kansas City - after a formal apology for dissing us. -not likley to happen but would be awesome..
Now in the spirit of endorsing candidates for election here is my formal opinion of who is our Quarterback we will have that will lead the way…
(If you don’t like it.. take 45 min out of your day and post your own thoughts but this is a non Manning Mantra zone!)
STAY CLASSY KANSAS CITY!
