The Cheifs haven't been at all succesful in the past couple of weeks. Faliure is all the fans can say right now. A lot of Chiefs fans really wanted to get in the mix for Peyton Manning. Our hearts were broken when he flew right over us, and just gave us a little wave. What does that say about Pioli? He couldn't even get Peyton to agnolige us. If you campare us to a lot of the other teams in the running for Peyton, we are one of the, if not the best fit for Peyton. That might be a little biased considering im the biggest chiefs fan, but I honestly feel we had a great shot. Peyton isn't stupid, he knows we were a great fit for him, so what would have made him immedietly count us out? My personal opinion, it was Scott Pioli.
There is so much drama following Pioli. So many bad rumors come out about him all the time. I don't know how much of it is true, but that doesn't matter. Now he has the reputation of a 16 year old girl in highschool, that has had rumors spread about her. When other teams hear "pioli", they just think he's bad news, and they dont want to deal with him. Thats why I feel Peyton over looked us. Scott Pioli contacted him, and immediatly Peyton thought, bad news. He doesnt have very many seasons left, and he doesnt want to spend it in an immature high school drama scene. I don't blame him. But Peyton is done and over with, we cant keep hanging on this, even for a normal team it is hard to nab a top 5 all time QB.
Enough with the drama. Pioli isn't even a very good GM. John Carelson came to meet with the chiefs, but his visit was cut short. Why? He said, he was "insulted" by the Chiefs offer. Within an hour, he had signed with the Vikings. That's embarrising. Eric Winston's agent said they weren't thinking about visiting the Chiefs, because they didn't think "we were serious enough." That's because Pioli never goes after the top tier players. The Kansas City Chiefs will never be a top tier team, if we don't go after top tier players. There afraid to spend money, thats why we dont go after top tier players, and that's why Eric Winston didn't think we were serious. Last year, Abrayou Franklin would have been a perfect fit for our whole in the D line. But what did Pioli do? We got Kelly Gregg instead, the third best person in that position. One season later, and we are right back to where we were, looking for another nose tackle. Instead of signing a great player for a 3, 4 year contract, we find someone that's cheap, that will fill in our team for a season, then we will be right back to where we were... We will never have an established team, if we can't establish players.
Where do all of these problems fall? Right on Scott Pioli. I haven't been quite sold on him for a while, and if we can't do anything this season with free agency, I will be on board for a new GM. Sorry, but it's the truth. You tell me what your opinion is. I don't see the Chiefs succeeding under Scott Pioli. Unless they change the way there running the organization, the Kansas City Chiefs will never be a serious team.
