Alright, let's just get this part out of my way. This is my first post so be gentle on me. Now that we (yes, I have a mouse in my pocket) have that out of the way, let's talk QBs...because nobody seems to be talking about them much. Let's start with the obvious. Peyton Manning, if healthy, would be the best choice. Big shocker there huh? But, it doesn't look like that will happen. Which is okay with me at the moment, because I find it a bit suspicious that we haven't seen him throw. I would think that would be the first thing a team would like to know. SO who else is there? The best options in my humble opinion are to sign Orton or Matt Flynn. I have read that Orton = Cassel and the stats seem to agree. However, Orton can throw deep. He also doesn't seem to panic as quick as Cassel does. Now, I am willing to admit that getting tackled a lot because Barry Richardson is on the O-line might make a guy nervous, but Cassel doesn't seem to know how to move his feet without looking like he is auditioning for Happy Feet 3.
Matt Flynn interests me. I read a lot of comments that he would be "Cassel 2.0" but I find that comparison is getting old. Yes, he is a back-up QB...but he has shown some skill in his limited starts. And guess what, he has played in the league and has more experience than any rookie we can draft at this point. Is it a risky move? Yes. But we are running out of options.
I need to look at more tape on Stanzi but I can't comment on him without more information. I would love to see what we have in the kid.
Those are my suggestions at this point. And of course, there is a chance that somebody will be released that might work better in our system but I won't hold my breath. You can, but I won't. I need air to live. You bunch of non-air breathers gettin' all uppity in my grill!
