I don't believe Clark is a money grubbing owner. I don't think Pioli is an incompetent fool. The problem is that neither one of them understands that people make decisions based on who they like. Both of these guys are conservative technocrats who think wearing red underwear is taking a big risk. Moreover, Pioli comes across as an arrogant intellect similar to an ivy league prick that no one wants to work for in business. These kind of guys understand the macro view of things, but completely miss the human element and lack the creative skills and balls required to take a big risk. Clark and Scott fit this profile to a T.
Pioli made a statement during a preseason game last year that shows his intellectual arrogance and lack of people skills. He was talking about signing the right tackle from the Redskins. He said something like ( if a guy doesn't really want to come here, I'm really not that interested). Wrong answer Scott! Your job is to change their mind!
The problem is we don't have a salesman. We don't have a dynamic recruiter who can sell free agents. Kansas City is doomed to live in as a middle of the road team. Component management with no personality. An organization that is unable to take the big risk. An organization with no balls that will not win a playoff game for another 20 years
